Blogging is one form of content sharing in the Canvas Community. Posts are meant to share personal experiences with Canvas and offer insights from your unique perspective.

Where can I write a blog post?

There are two places community members can post content to a blog:

  • Group Blog
  • User Blog (reserved only to select users)

Steps to posting to a Group Blog

All community members can contribute blog posts to members-only groups, as long as they are members of that group. Click to learn more about the difference between a blog and a document in Community Groups

NOTE: Some private or secret groups may not have the blogging tool enabled.

There are two places where you can click to create a blog post. From the 'Actions' drop-down in the group navigation menu. Or, under the 'Share a Resource' menu on the group homepage.

2. Follow the prompts to add Banner, Title, Content.

More details below on tips to write a blog post.

3. Click publish.

Remember:

  • You can also 'Save Draft' if you wish to come back and continue writing before you publish.
  • You can post-date your blog post under the 'Advanced Options' settings.

Steps to posting to a User Blog

Community members who have authored 10 or more blogs and are at an Educator II status will be considered for user blogs. (If you qualify and still do not have a user blog, please contact Biray Seitz)

1. Click on your personal blog under your PROFILE > Content tab.

You'll find your user blog in your Profile by clicking on the Content tab. Click on your personal blog name (you'll see it to the left of the content list) to start writing your blog.

2. Click on the 'Write a blog post' link and follow the prompts to add Banner, Title, and Content.
