How do I delete an attempt for a quiz?

A student accidently opened a quiz that has only one attempt. How do I delete that attempt so that the student may take that exam? I do not see where I can individualize the quiz by giving the student another attempt.

You would do this from the Moderate this Quiz function. These guides will help depending on which version of the quizzing tool you are using.

This doesn't answer the question. This shows how to give an additional attempt.

We have a situation where we actually need to delete an attempt. (The quizzes are automatically scored, but optional. The grade book reweights across quizzes for missing attempts, but will not do so if there is any score at all in the quiz.)

How can attempt actually be deleted?
