How do students view annotations made by teachers in DocViewer?

My 8th grade students recently submitted a narrative published on a word document.  I annotated the doc using the docviewer in speedgrader for the first time.  How do students access the annotations I made?  They can see the score on the rubric and any comments I left in the text box, but cannot see the annotations on the assignment.  What am I missing?
