Need Access to Canvas to Grade Papers right now

I am getting my car serviced and waiting here at the Lexus dealer working on their computer.   I can get onto myu.umn. edu but cannot get to Canvas because they want a chrome browser.   I downloaded as instructed  but I cannot tell what browser I am using.  Everytime I try to access Canvas, I get the same run around.   Can you talk me through this?

Hi Jeanne,

While we always recommend to use the Chrome browser at my school, Canvas does work with other browsers (Supported Web Browsers ).  It sounds like using Chrome is a recommended and or required browser to use by your school. To ensure you're using the chrome browser first of all ensure you're clicking on an icon similar to this  and once in the browser you can press F1 on the keyboard to easily bring up the browsers help screen, which in chrome should look similar to this.

I hope this helps you ensure that you're using the chrome web browser and can get into Canvas.

Hi Brian,

It seems the Lexus dealer has blocked everything except internet

explorer. I have tried to get IT help here while I wait but to no avail.

We don't have access to any installed programs, the desktop nor is there a

task bar to find the icon you describe. I got to it through your

instructions....but the computer did not respond. Thank you anyway. It

is a system issue here. Jeanne
