The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Some time ago, when a student's enrollment was concluded, they could be reinstated in the course by going to Settings... Sections... locating the student in the section and reinstating them to the course. Now when you click on the student name in the "Completed Enrollments" section, it says the student is not in the course. When did this change and how do you reinstate them without having to "Add People" as if it's a new enrollment?
This sounds like a change in the method of doing the SIS Import. If you're the school's field admin, have you been tinkering with it recently? If not, you may want to ask them.
No changes have been made to our SIS import process. We've contacted Canvas Support and are waiting to hear back.

No, I didn’t find out how to reinstate a student who has been concluded in a course. Inquiring minds still want to know.
