Speedgrader

When I open Speedgrader, I no longer automatically see the uploaded assignment in the left hand panel. I need to download the student's submission separately. Previously, the assignment was always visible. How can I go back to the previous layout please?

What is the submission type?  Pdf will show. Other files will not necessarily show.

Hi @GrahamBurns ...

By chance, do you know if the student is submitting the file to you as an extra attachment to the assignment?  For example, if you had provided comments on an assignment that was submitted by a student, and then that student submitted comments back to you with an attachment, is that attachment showing on the right side of the SpeedGrader only and not in the main DocViewer portion of the screen where you are used to seeing the document?  If that is the case, when students attach files in this way as part of a conversation with you, those documents do not show in the main portion of the SpeedGrader.  Downloading is the only open as far as I know.

I'm not sure if this might be the case for you, but I thought I'd throw out that possibility.  Let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!

No, it is the original assignment which is not showing.

is the submission type (pdf, txt, docx, etc) of the assignment you can't view the same type as what you have viewed previously?  The types that can be viewed are listed here

If the type of file is one listed, then there is an issue somewhere.  If you can download the file and verify that it is the type of file the extension says it is that would help as well.  I restrict file extensions on my uploads and students will change the extension on an incorrect file so that they can upload what they want and not what I want.

You by chance are not talking about a pdf submission on a New Quiz submission are you?
