course materials locked

Why are some of my course materials locked, so that students can't open them up or open up a file linked to an assignment?

By chance, do you have any restrictions set on any of the files for your course (located in the course "Files" screen)?  Please check out the information in this Guide: How do I restrict files and folders to students in Canvas?

Thank-you for your reply, Chris. The students are receiving this message when they try to upload documents that I have place in Canvas assignments:

"The folder "Uploaded Media," which includes this file, has been locked."

I have looked for the Uploaded Media so that i can unlock it, but can't find it. Do you know how to access it?

Hello Again, Chris,

I found the Uploaded Media File in two locations--the second was a folder within a folder, and I discovered that that folder was not published. I have corrected that situation, and things seem to be working now.
