disable announcements from course copy

Thanks for your question. I'm not quite clear on what you are asking.

If you do not want announcements to copy over during a course copy, then you would "select specific content" when importing and make sure that "Announcements" was not checked. This might help: How do I select specific content as part of a course import? 

If that is not what you meant, please provide a little more details of what you want to do. Let us know if that helped!

I meant to ask if there was a way to disable all the announcements that roll over when you do a course copy. I do want to use the announcements, but don't want them all to show from the first day of the term.  I couldn't' find a button to unpublish an announcement.  However, our Canvas pro at EFSC just sent me an email advising that I'd need to edit each announcement and select a 'delay' date.  That will work.  If anyone has an easier way to do them all at once, please advise. 🙂

Have you tried shifting dates when you copy into the new course? That would potentially do them en masse.

 @ryer  Welcome to the Canvas Community! When I was teaching I would enable the Select Content checkbox when copying an existing course over to a new shell; I'd then make sure to de-select the announcements before initiating the copy. I would then copy only the announcements into a different (sandbox) course, and would bring them over to the live course as I needed them.
