unlocking a closed quiz

I have administered a quiz and it is closed. May I reopen it for one student to take it because they have an excused absence?

I have tried the "unlock this quiz" and it does not open it for the student.

Hello,  @trhubler  !  Have you tried adding this student only to the test with a new due date and availability?  This link is for Classic Quizzes: What options can I set in a quiz?  If you have New Quizzes, you'll need to edit it to add the student's due date and availability: How do I edit a New Quizzes assessment?  

(Make sure to click the +ADD button under the old availability dates!)
