Summary
When editing the Organization level, a new notification settings tab is available allowing admins to customize notifications. Additionally, the Allow Email Notifications checkbox in Content Settings is removed and reorganized in the Notification settings tab, providing admins the option to allow issuers to override notification preferences. Admins and Issuers can customize notifications for the following badge types:
- Newly earned badge awards
- Invited to Pathways
- Expiring badge awards
- Revoked badge awards
- Ending groups
Additionally, the checkbox to send email notifications about new badge awards for Badges users on the Badge Award page is removed. Notifications for newly earned badges are delivered through in-app notifications only for Badges users.

This update provides users with timely notifications about badges to stay informed enabling users to keep their credentials current and accurate for verification.
Feature Workflow
At the Organization level, a Notification settings tab [1] displays when editing an organization. To allow issuers to customize notification settings, select the Allow Issuer to Override Notification Preferences checkbox [2].
Note: The Allow Issuer to Override Notification Preferences checkbox is disabled by default. When the checkbox is disabled, a Notification Settings tab does not display for issuers.
For Newly earned badge awards, Invited to Pathways and Revoked badge award notifications, select the preferred notification type [1]. Admins and issuers can customize the default description [2] or click the Reset link [3] to restore the default description.
For Expiring badge awards and Ending groups notifications, select the desired schedule [1] and the preferred notification type [2]. Admins and issuers can customize the default description [3] or click the Reset link [4] to restore the default description.
Note: The default schedule selection is 30 days before and Upon expiration. The default notification type is In-app notification.
In-app notifications display in the user notification tray. Users can click the Show less [1] or Show More [2] links to expand and collapse notification details. Additionally, a circle icon displays on unread notifications [3].
In the Credentials LTI, a Notifications option is added in the drop-down menu.
Users can view in-app notifications when using the Credentials LTI.
Email notifications allow users to view the badge online [1] or Download [2] the badge directly from the notification.
