Turnitin LTI Blueprint Sync issue

Hi Community

In recent weeks, we have discovered a little weird occurrence when syncing an Assignment with Turnitin enabled.

The dates set for the Assignment in the Turnitin LTI, DO NOT SYNC CORRECTLY. Some are wrong by just the date or it can be both date and time - anything up to 3 weeks either way. The incorrect dates are also different for many of the associated courses (it isn't the same wrong date for all associations).

Has anyone else seen this and discovered the reason?

It makes creating tasks in a blueprint course almost redundant if all associated courses need to be reset after the fact. It also causes unnecessary levels of stress for teachers working remotely with students of with classes with non-teaching supervisors when error is discovered.

Maryna, I am the Director for Learning Design and Development at Tulane's School of Professional Advancement. One of our program directors [MDES] just submitted a help ticket asking that my team activate TurnItIn on all MDES classes and that it should be "automatic on the blueprint."

is this a thing that can happen?

Turnitin is in all of our Canvas courses as the plagiarism option in the Assignments settings.

I was in contact with our Support Team to investigate the case and get more details for you. Unfortunately, we could not find the support ticket in our system. Thus, I assume you submitted it to the Support Team of Canvas.

Unfortunately, we don’t support the BluePrint course functionality in LTI right now. However, our team has this known issue in the backlog to investigate and resolve it as soon as possible. 

I am sorry that you and your colleagues faced the issue. I do understand your frustration and eagerness to assist your team members. Likewise, we are doing our best to help you and our other users.
