Wrestling with customizing displayed information on the Canvas user profile and class roster?

Dear Colleagues,Our IT staff has been tasked with ensuring that a student's preferred name and pronouns are displayed throughout our campus information systems. We would like to extend this information to the Canvas class roster and user profile as a part of this work.

In the Ideas area, we have suggested an approach that provides flexibility around what might be displayed on the user profile and class roster that is tied to the SIS Import process. In this way, Canvas can be tailored to display user information based on what is institutionally relevant, such as pronouns or class year at Williams College and House affiliation at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

If you agree that this idea would be an improvement to the Canvas LMS, we'd appreciate your endorsement!

We are giving the Canvas Admins area a little bit of love and just want to check in with you.  This will also bring this question new attention. 

First, I want to apologize for your question sitting in the community for so long without a response.

Second, it looks like you have stumped the Canvas Community.  Were you able to find an answer to your question? I am going to go ahead and mark this question as answered because there hasn't been any more activity in a while so I assume that you have the information that you need. This is a very interesting dilemma. The one thing you might want to think about is everytime you want to make a global change, you will have to test in every three weeks when Instructure updates the production code. It might make any difference the first 100 times, but sooner or later, something might change in the code and your item will not work.
