When getting data from Catalog (either to verify clinical users onto appropriate courses or as a bulk to process the data through Power BI) I would go Catalog > Analytics > Users, then close the monthly filter and then export the CSV and then use the emailed CSV.
This could happen every day and is time consuming and a bit of a pain.
In a ideal world I would have that CSV exported every day at 1am and put into a folder where it overwrites the previous version. I'm not sure if there is an easy way to do this?
I assume this would have to happen with API called, I know little about this process and was hoping I can use Power Automate to do the work for me. Is this good approach?
I ran into a problem where I want all data ever from Catalog no matter if the courses were live or deleted. Then it looks like you might have to have an API call with Catalog and Canvas. Then potentially get really confusing.
Has anyone had experience with this or any good ideas to resolve my issue.
Thanks for any help in advance!
My only experience is that I've asked (put in an idea/feature request) to be able to automatically email some address selected analytics on a schedule.
I'm not advanced enough to be able to code something myself. In fact, I've even tried to replicate the "Users" or "Enrollments" analytics (or a combination of them since I manually create a combined report every Monday for my enrollment and marketing team. Apparently those analytics exports are using some combined API calls and I haven't figured out how to replicate those.
There's always hope though.
Hello @RichC,
We experimented with a similar idea. You can see the result here: https://app.screencast.com/jSxzS0h8qFGYI
Is this something you would expect? What do you think of this solution? Would it be valuable to you?
Best,
Máté
