I have a client who bulked purchased seats for a catalog course. They invited people in their organization to this course. A person enrolled and then realized they couldn't do the course at this time. The client wants to have the seat still available to them to give to someone else.
The Problem:
I removed the person from the course but that did not free up their seat. My client doesn't have any options on their end to revoke the enrollment. I'm not finding any settings to do this on my end as the admin.
Does a way exist to free up this seat?
@dewell_justin I would recommend asking Instructure support.
I have worked around this by making the student who "Dropped" the course as inactive in Canvas. Go to the Catalog listing and resave. It should open a seat. Sometimes I up the seat numbers in Catalog by one (or number needed) to add the seat. There should now be an open seat. I keep the previous person as Inactive just as a record. Hope that helps.
The issue with that, however, is that the person who made the bulk purchase doesn't have another invite to send and the person who would be enrolling would still need to pay (or be given a promotion code)
For more context, this course doesn't have a cap on seats. It's for the user to have an invite to give another person in their organization. The user bulk purchased seats to then distribute to others in their org.
