Summary
The Modern Storefront can be centrally managed at the parent catalog level. When enabled, this setting automatically applies to all associated subcatalogs, including inherited branding elements like logos, color schemes, and favicons. These settings cannot be customized at the subcatalog level.
When the parent catalog has the Modern Storefront enabled, subcatalogs inherit this setting along with all branding configurations and cannot override them. However, if the parent catalog is using the Legacy Storefront, subcatalogs can independently enable the Modern Storefront and manage their branding settings, allowing for greater flexibility.
Change Benefit
This update balances centralized consistency with localized flexibility, supporting gradual adoption based on organizational readiness and ensures a unified and consistent storefront experience across all levels.
Feature Workflow
View Storefront OptionsThe Theme Editor permission is a permanent setting in the Subcatalog Admins menu. Subcatalogs will only display the Themes page if two conditions are met: the user has the Theme Editor permission and the Modern Storefront is enabled at that catalog level. Additionally, if the Modern Storefront is disabled at the parent level, the Inherit Theme from parent catalog toggle is hidden for improved clarity.
Summary
To streamline the transition from the Legacy Storefront to the Modern Storefront, admins can automatically import the logo, header image, and favicon from the Legacy Storefront setup.
Note: The button displays only when branding images exist in the Legacy Storefront and imported assets remain fully editable.
Change Benefit
This update minimizes setup time during migration, provides a smoother, more intuitive upgrade experience, and encourages faster adoption of the Modern Storefront.
Feature Workflow
View Legacy Import Images ButtonCatalog admins can import images by clicking the Import from Legacy Storefront button.
