Catalog Release Notes (2025-06-23)

Release notes outline upcoming customer-impacting changes that are expected to be displayed in production environments. Please note that features considered for future development are not included in the notes.

Canvas Catalog is an all-in-one learning solution that integrates with the Canvas LMS as a course registration system, payment gateway, and learning platform. Learn more about Canvas Catalog.

Unless otherwise stated, all features in this release are available in the Beta environment on 2025-06-17 and the Production environment on 2025-06-23.

New Features


Completion Percentage in Enrollments Analytics

Summary

A Completion Percentage column is added to the Enrollments tab within Analytics in Canvas Catalog. Completion data is synced once daily at midnight, reflecting the most up-to-date status available from Canvas.

Change Benefit

This enhancement surfaces course progress data directly from Canvas, providing greater visibility into learner engagement and performance.

In the Enrollments tab in Analytics, admins can view the completion percentages in the Completion column.

 

Updated Features

PayPal Smart Payment Buttons Upgrade

Summary

The PayPal Checkout experience is upgraded with the integration of Smart Payment Buttons (SPB), offering a faster, embedded checkout flow that eliminates redirects and dynamically displays the most relevant payment methods—including PayPal, Debit/Credit Card, Pay Later, and region-specific wallets.

 

Note: Catalog admins must contact their Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Support team to set up PayPal as a payment provider for their account.

This upgrade is designed to make checking out simpler, smarter, and more user-friendly. This context-aware interface is designed to optimize for user preferences and increase conversion by presenting the right payment options at the right time. Transaction reliability has also been enhanced through improved error handling and a more intuitive cancellation flow, providing users with clear feedback and a smoother path through the checkout process.

If institutions use PayPal as their payment gateway, users can click the PayPal or Debit or Credit Card buttons to pay for their courses or programs.
