Release notes outline upcoming customer-impacting changes that are expected to be displayed in production environments. Please note that features considered for future development are not included in the notes.

Canvas Catalog is an all-in-one learning solution that integrates with the Canvas LMS as a course registration system, payment gateway, and learning platform. Learn more about Canvas Catalog.

Unless otherwise stated, all features in this release are available in the Beta environment and the Production environment on 2025-07-21.

New Features

Catalog and Impact Integration

Summary

Institutions using Catalog can integrate with Impact to unlock real-time insights into user engagement, adoption trends, and the learner journey. This integration also allows Catalog admins to deliver targeted, in-app messages to learners.

Change Benefit

This integration eliminates technical barriers to learner messaging in Catalog, giving non-technical admins the ability to create and deliver custom guidance, nudges, and engagement messages throughout the entire learner experience.

Institutions gain real-time analytics on learner behavior within Catalog, allowing them to better understand how learners interact with the platform. They can also deliver customizable messaging to support students at key moments in their journey, from registration to completion. This provides a seamless way to improve engagement and boost course outcomes. Additionally, the integration enhances the overall value of existing Instructure tools by creating a more connected and data-informed experience.


Feature Workflow

Institutions that have both Catalog and Impact can activate the integration through the admin settings in Catalog and Impact. Once the integration is enabled, admins gain access to behavior and usage analytics that show how students interact with Catalog, including insights into registration flows, enrollment trends, and points where users drop off.

View Impact InsightsAdmins can configure and deploy in-app messages directly within Catalog using Impact’s no-code interface. This allows them to create onboarding prompts during registration, send reminders to encourage course progress, celebrate completions, and re-engage learners who have become inactive.

View Impact Messaging in CatalogBuilt-in reporting tools in Impact make it easy to track how messages perform, enabling admins to refine their strategies based on data and continuously improve student engagement.

Catalog Listings on Public Badge Pages

Summary
Canvas Credentials displays a Catalog Listings section on public badge pages. This section highlights all Canvas Catalog listings associated with a badge, allowing learners to identify which course or program leads to earning it. Each listing links directly to its Catalog detail page for immediate access.

Change Benefit
This enhancement strengthens the integration between Credentials and Catalog, increases visibility into learning opportunities, and drives enrollment by turning badge pages into actionable entry points. Institutions benefit from improved discoverability of offerings, while learners gain a clearer path from credential to course enrollment.

Feature Workflow
When a public badge page is accessed and if listings are present, the section displays directly on the badge page.
