Accurate Duration Estimates for Short-Term Assignments

When setting a short availability window for assignments (i.e. 2.5 hours) the student will see a time estimate. This estimate is calculated in seconds and is highly inaccurate. For an assignment that is available for 2.5 hours it will tell the student 'about three hours'. This has led to students turning in assignments late because they look at the estimate instead of the actual time range. Also from an accessibility standpoint, this is terrible for non-neuro-typical students and we should be mindful of their experience. Please either a) change the time estimate to give you an accurate duration or b) remove the feature so it's not confusing for students.

Hi, @shelby_hanna. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We definitely do not want to lead students astray and a 30 minute difference is very misleading. I am going to create a ticket to investigate this further and look into what adjustment might be needed.
