In the new enhanced Canvas Portfolio (currently in Feature Preview), if I create an evaluation portfolio for my students with the intention of marking it for either formative or summative assessment, the way it works is that I have to set up an assignment requiring a website URL, and the student needs to grab the Portfolio URL and submit it. This is tedious and somewhat bizarre.
For a more seamless experience for instructors and students: As an instructor, when creating an assignment, when I select "Online" from the dropdown, the subsequent options should include the option "Portfolio". Choosing "Portfolio" should allow me to pick one of the evaluation portfolios I have set up. On the students' end, clicking on the assignment should take them to the evaluation portfolio. They should not have to do anything extra (e.g., submitting a URL etc) beyond completing the evaluation portfolio.
