Allowlist versus Whitelist

As we all become more culturally competent, many of us are reflecting inwardly about how we can make a difference. I recently came across this article on words steeped in racism. I encourage Instructure to remove references to "whitelist" in software and documentation, and suggest replacing with the term "allowlist."

Howdy, Sky! We are right with you on this. Our Doc Team has already removed all of the references to "whitelist" that we could find. You'll see the changes already implemented in Canvas HTML Editor Allowlist PDF. Canvas engineers have also scoured the UI for references to the old word, but we might have missed some, so if you still see artifacts of the old, antiquated language in our documentation or UI, would you please let us know?

We're going to archive this idea, but please let us know if you find other examples where the language needs to be changed to "Allowlist." Thanks!
