[Analytics] Make Category Averages Visible

Problem statement:

We have noticed discrepancies in some teachers' gradebooks as they relate to averages of summative and formative assessments. For instance, students do very well on homework, and quizzes, but tests tell a different story. Averages of assignment types and individual assignments are available in New Analytics, but averages of categories are not.

Proposed solution:

Make it easy to find the average grade for each category? For example, "What's the average Summative Test grade in Physical Science? This could be in the form of an average at the bottom of the category column in the gradebook or within New Analytics.

@jbarr Can you explain what you mean by "category"? Is that referring to assignment groups?

Hi Carly!
Sorry about that. Our teachers use custom, weighted assignment groups for assignment types.  Those groups are not visible in New Analytics.

Ah, okay -- thanks for the clarification! Is this a request for the grade book then?

Well, it should be both. New Analytics should be able to pull assignment groups from each course and provide a more-detailed analysis than a simple mean.
