Problem statement:

Until recently, I could see the module where any assignment was used, but it's dropped. Now each assignment includes only dates and point values. Without that information, it is challenging to determine which assignments are unused. Students access all assignments only through modules in our courses, so if an assignment isn't in a module, it's extraneous.

Proposed solution:

The view from the Assignment view needs to include the modules that assignments are in. By seeing the module, I can see which assignments are used by a teacher and that students need to do. Any assignment without a module is extraneous and should be deleted to avoid confusion and clean the back end of the course. Without that information, it's challenging to troubleshoot grades for teachers or grade pass back with the SIS.

This behavior has been identified as a bug by our Support and Engineering teams, and they are actively working on a fix. Because this idea will not need to go through the entire feature development process, the thread is being moved to our Will Not Consider status.
