Assignments in Canvas do not allow instructors to create auto-graded assignments with forced-answer question types such as multiple choice, true/false, matching, hot spot, etc. Instructors who want these types of assignments have to use Classic Quizzes or New Quizzes. This leads to confusion for students. The quiz is being used as an assignment, but all the Canvas buttons and language refer to it as a quiz.
Please add a new assignment type where instructors can create the assignment, choose question types, create questions, and have them auto-graded like quizzes. Please also allow for open-ended question types. I understand instructors will have to manually grade those, but the organizational structure of being able to create an assignment with all these different question types to be answered directly in the assignment is a big need.
