Many institutions have an Honor Code to guide academic integrity. I would like to be able to add our institutions Honor Code to Canvas and have it available to faculty to add as an option for any assignments. This can currently be done in different ways in Canvas by adding questions to a quiz or creating a separate affirmation quiz in a module that is required to be completed before an assignment, but those are more complex solutions than a more integrated institutional method.
For example, the admin can add the text of the Honor Code to Canvas, and once enabled, a check box for "add Affirmation of Honor Code" or something similar would be one of the options that could be selected. If selected, once the student starts the assignment, they first see the Honor Code and need click "Affirm" or "Do Not Affirm." If they affirm, they move forward, if they do not, they are instructed that they will not get access until they affirm, and that they should contact the instructor of the course for more information. This solution would make adding such an affirmation simple and easy and allow faculty to help students keep academic integrity and the Honor Code clearly in focus as they begin an assignment/quiz/submission.
