Students may mistakenly and/or purposefully attach files intended for an assignment submission to the assignment comments instead. Comments and attachments are also available after both the due date and "available until" date. Although comments and attachments are date and time stamped, the ability for students to comment or attach after an assignment has closed can create challenges or unnecessary conversation regarding late or missing work.
As part of the assignment settings for Teachers, provide a setting check box to "disable comments after due date" and another check box setting to "disable comment attachments after due date"
