When you have Synced assignment groups to the SIS, an "Imported" icon (which looks like an arrow on a page) appears next to the Assignment Group name. This helps Teachers and System Admins quickly identify if an Assignment Group is synced or not with the SIS and is very helpful for troubleshooting.
BUT, if you Unassociate the Assignment Group from the SIS category, the icon remains.
If you look at the Assignments Index page and continue seeing the icon, you may think all is fine and the Assignment group is Synced. It's not until you click "Sync SIS Categories" that you would see that the Assignment group is NOT synced.
Please make the Icon go away when you Unassociate groups, to avoid confusion, and have people mistakenly think the group is associated.
Furthermore, the Canvas Guide reads: "View Synced Assignment Groups in Assignments Page" and displays the image previously shown above.
