Block AI Agents from Logging in on Behalf of Students

Problem statement:

Currently, OpenAI's agent mode can log in using a student's credentials. And it can perform tasks such as assignments. Essentially, this tool allows students to automate their cheating. A demo is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTQHLG2BHJU

Proposed solution:

Editing robots.txt could be a starter. By far, this isn't sufficient. Perhaps, coordinate with OpenAI and such for a hidden identifier?

Hi @Yun_Moh_at_RTC - Just checking to see if you meant to put this as an idea for the Impact by Instructure product? Students do not log into Impact and homework completion isn't a part of the product. I assume that you meant to submit for Canvas? If so, here is the link to submit Canvas ideas. I will also share this with my fellow Canvas LMS product peers. Thank you!

Hello @Yun_Moh_at_RTC,

I see you have resubmitted this idea with slightly more detail at Block AI Agents from Logging in on Behalf of Stude... - Instructure Community - 651685.  We will use that new idea submission going forward and decline this existing one.

Thank you for the update. I've added an additional comment as follows.

This is a major challenge from the college admin perspective since it will be used by fraudulent enrollment actors. They can use fake student accounts to submit assignments to mimic "real" students.
