[Community] I would like to be able to use permanent links for specific changes in Canvas Release or Deploy notes.

Problem statement:

The issue is when Canvas Release or Deploy notes are published, they contain a bulleted list with links to the various items that will be updated. If an item is added after publication, any links that appear after the new item in the bulleted list are changed. This makes it difficult to include current links when our institution shares them with our teams, as we use those links to refer to specific items in our communications. If we share the link via email, and then afterward, a new item is added to the release/deploy notes, it often invalidates the link that we shared. For example, with the 2023-11-18 Release Notes (https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Releases/Canvas-Release-Notes-2023-11-18/ta-p/584212), we shared links to the Anonymous Grading, Duplicate Item Banks, and Item Banks Display Update changes. Then, the Media Permission and Caption Update change was added to the page, and afterward, the shared links no longer worked. They still direct to the overall page for that release but not to the specific items we linked.

Proposed solution:

It would be great if each specific change item had a Permalink (like individual discussion posts in the Canvas Community) to use when communicating about specific changes.

Hi @Andy_Kalin  - Thank you for sharing this feedback. Because this idea isn't related to a product, I am moving the thread to Will Not Consider. I will share this idea directly with our Release Communication Specialists.

Many thanks, @KristinL!  I hope the Release Communication Specialists will consider the idea.
