When I import a few modules from an old course, the quizzes, pages, discussions, and such do not get imported unless I check the boxes to import them. That is a pain, and I usually miss something.
When importing specific content, and selecting modules to import, have an "import dependencies" check box. It should be near the module I asked Canvas to import. Checking that box imports everything linked to from inside that module.
