[Course Settings] Adding a Navigation link to Navigation Area

Problem statement:

Canvas has its strengths and weaknesses, If it needs to stay competitive it must improve, innovate, (also have open minded people handling new ideas ) It lacks the basic feature of allowing Course Instructor to add a custom link to the Course's Navigation Area. Competing LMSs already have this feature. - The currently existing option under setting/navigation DOES NOT resolve this issue - The "Design Tool" DOES NOT resolve this issue, it can't add a link in the course's main navigation area - The "Redirect Tool" DOES NOT resolve this issue (this is not an App) Would appreciate this required feature being considered.

Proposed solution:

Allow Instructor to create a link in the Course Navigation Area, The link could point to an existing course page, just like the Syllabus link, should not be a big deal at all.

This idea has been added to a theme for further consideration. Would you be able to provide more information about why the Redirect Tool does not meet your needs currently? Thanks!

Thank you for this suggestion! While we are not prioritizing work on the Redirect Tool at this time, I have bookmarked this feedback for future reference. If in the future we consider work in this area, your feedback will be taken into consideration.
