Currently, students can create nicknames for courses and there's not an admin setting that can prevent this. This poses a problem for teachers and our younger students. A teacher today reported that a student was missing a course they needed. This was because at some point the 2nd grade student had gone in and added a nickname to the course that did not match the purpose of the course. The teacher was unaware of this, and being a 2nd grader, the student didn't realize what they were doing when they added the nickname. Trying to figure it out wasted class time for the teacher. In fixing the issue, we also found that once you add a nickname to a course, you can edit the nickname, but you can't remove it.
Admins should have a permissions option to restrict the ability for students to create a nickname for a course.
