[Discussions] Discussion Posts Word Count View as Instructor

Problem statement:

Instructors are currently manually checking the word count for discussion posts when grading if they have a minimum word count for students to meet. I've seen the "[Discussions] Meet required word count before posting to discussion" idea but this does not indicate whether instructors will be able to still see the word count. If they opt not to use that feature once implemented, seeing the word count will still be helpful for them when viewing discussion posts and grading.

Proposed solution:

Include a word count view on discussion posts for instructors so they can see them within the discussion board and in SpeedGrader. Seeing the word count on the actual posts/replies versus only in SpeedGrader may also help instructors scan the discussions to see if students are meeting the word requirements before grading.

Problem statement:

I have seen this around multiple times! Why is there no word count for discussions in Speedgrader? There is for Text Entry but not discussions?

Proposed solution:

Instructure/Canvas should be able to adapt the text entry word count to the discussions. Both use the RCE and should be able to have the same capability. Since this has been an issue, it would be great if Instructure/Canvas would implement to help support the instructors that utilize their LMS options!
