Current state, when a user uses the @mention feature to mention another user in a discussion, the list that generates provides only the full names (soon to be updated to display names per the 2024-10-23 Deploy Notes updates) of the matching users in the course. However, if there is more than one user with the same name, there is currently no way to differentiate between these users from the list. Therefore, it is possible that the wrong user will be mentioned in the discussion post/reply.
If there could be another identifier in addition to the user's name (e.g., email address) in the mention list that populates, or alternatively a hover over feature from the list that provides more details about the user when you hover your mouse over their name, this would enable the user who is performing the mention in the discussion to be able to accurately identify the correct user that they wish to tag.
