When I want to push out a Google Doc for students to write an essay in I do so through the Google LTI. This is convenient because I can check in on my students' writing progress throughout the writing process. At the end of the that process, I want my students to submit their work to be checked by Turnitin before grading. I cannot, however, do that within the same assignment. I have to have my students submit via a different assignment. It is inconvenient and can confuse some students.
I want my students to submit their LTI-given Google docs to be checked by Turnitin IN THE SAME ASSIGNMENT. I want to do everything I need to with an essay assignment in one place: give the document, see the process, collect the document, check it with Turnitin, and evaluate it with a rubric ALL in ONE place.
