[Files] option to update/replace file

Problem statement:

to replace a file uploaded to Canvas, you have to upload the new file, delete the old one, and link the new one. this leaves room for user error (forgetting to delete the old one or link the new one)

Proposed solution:

wordpress and other CMSes have the ability to update or replace a file with a new upload, so the user doesn't need to go through the deletion/re-linking process themselves.

Hi @mlavengood -

When in Files, if you upload (or drag and drop) a file with the same name as an existing file in your course, as long as you're in the correct folder, the file uploads a user to Skip, Change Name, or Replace the overlapping file.

Because this feature already exists in LMS, I'm moving this thread to our Will Not Consider status.
