If we want to change a late policy in a course, it states "Changing the late policy will affect previously graded submissions." However, we appear to be unable to change the "Automatically apply grade for missing submissions" policy. For example, if one fails to remove the late policy and remove dates during the course import process (a problem that Canvas MUST solve ASAP), then we must change all the zeros to '-' in the gradebook. But then the "Automatically apply grade for missing submissions" policy is not applied because the grade was changed. Why not allow this to be applied? If we can apply the late policy in a case like this why not be able to apply the "Automatically apply grade for missing submissions" policy?
Allow us to apply the "Automatically apply grade for missing submissions" after we have changed automatically applied zeros and then changed those to "-".
