[Gradebook Settings] Gradebook totals calculation including work not yet started

Problem statement:

The gradebook in grades for Canvas has a total, this total is an average of the assignments submitted so far in the course. It is not possible to see how far the student is through the course at a glance without exporting and adding an average equation or manually updating the gradebook with 0s.

Proposed solution:

Allow a toggle so all possible marks are added and the current score worked out as a % of this. This functionality already exists when going into an individual students grades. You can toggle a button so you turn off 'calculate based only on graded assignments. I think this should be applied as a setting in the gradebook as a whole.

I am happy to share that this is already a feature of the Gradebook. The following document from the Canvas Guides has instructions:
How do I view total scores in the Gradebook as if all ungraded assignments were given zero grades?

To help our Product Teams evaluate new ideas, this thread has been moved to our Will Not Consider status.

This can be set as an individual temporary view in gradebook, I would like to switch this to be the default vie in our instance of Canvas and allow the original view as a toggle that can be accessed, as seeing how far a learner is through a course is useful to our staff.

It is also more motivational for our students to see their percentage score increasing as they complete parts of the course.
