Let us schedule a Publish Date / Time for Content Pages

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas

Please allow us the ability to set a specific date and/or time for content pages to be published ahead of time.

It would be nice to be able to schedule those times in advance. There are times I don't want to publish something for students to see until after class and that requires remembering to go back and publish. Forgetting to do so only then creates chaos.  It'd be nice to just set those times once the page is designed and avoid those circumstances.

Publish dates for content pages would be amazing. This feature would definitely help with planning ahead/building pages for multiple topics/class days ahead of time and not having to remember to actually go back and publish it after the lesson.

Similar question - I'd like to prepare appointment slots (office hours) for later release dates - that would be a helpful feature. Is this possible now? Might it be added?

It would be great to have the same ability to publish modules by date and time as well!

You can already do this Russell. We use this to release answers to students after class by having "answers" pages published inside time-locked modules.  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13096

Have you considered putting the pages you want to release into "class day" modules. You can choosea date and time for the module to be released. In other words, while you can't set pages to time-release as "pages", you can if you add them to modules which are on time-release. We do it to share answers with students after class by having daily or session "answer" modules. https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13096

There is the ability to lock modules, but not to schedule a publish. Some instructors do not want student to see the content, even though they cannot click on it. We have faculty that want to schedule the publish, not availability.

Agree that a better adaptive release functionality would be very helpful.  Whilst pre-requisites can be set for modules and modules can be "locked" (i.e. unavailable until a specified date), this relates to all the pages in a specific module - therefore, currently we would need to creates modules for individual pages to use these functions for individual pages (which seems excessive).

Yes, please!

As someone mentioned above, it's tough to remember to go back after school and make something live.  I love this delay posting feature for Announcements -- we need more delay posting for other features, please!

@aungaro ‌, with all the recent additions of ways to restrict when materials are available, we still get faculty asking for this original idea: scheduling a publish date for content pages. We would still love to see this feature implemented!

This is an absolute no brainer. Pages are the only thing you can't schedule. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Please fix this.
