Our students use the Canvas Student app on district-issued iPad devices. When a teacher creates an appointment group in the Canvas calendar, the “Find Appointment” button does not appear within the app. As a result, students must exit the app and log in through the web version of Canvas to locate and sign up for available appointments. This extra step disrupts the student workflow and creates unnecessary barriers to accessing important course scheduling features directly from the app.
I'm proposing to enable the “Find Appointment” button and full appointment group functionality within the Canvas Student app. This enhancement would allow students to locate and sign up for calendar appointments without leaving the app, providing a more seamless, efficient, and consistent user experience. Supporting this feature within the app would improve accessibility for iPad users and help teachers manage scheduling tasks more effectively across their classes. Thank you for your consideration.
