[New Analytics] User Agents

Problem statement:

New Analytics has a lot of helpful views on to support the day-to-day of Canvas Admins and instructional designers. As we continue to build, we have a lot of anecdotal evidence supporting what devices are students are using. This comes through in support tickets, or seeing students do course work in the library or cafeteria. However, we have a growing number of online courses and see less students on campus. Having some proactive data that would drive specific decision making as to design considerations for a growing support team would certainly help put weight behind conversations.

Proposed solution:

Might there be a field for User Agents in the near future? As a growing instructional design team, and working within our university Bring Your Own Device policy, it would be helpful for us to get a hard-coded look at what devices students are using often. Building for consistent access using the HTML allowlist will support our endeavors. (Unless we can get the new design language up and running at some point...) Thanks for considering.
