We have found that when a student takes a timed quiz and they leave the quiz for any reason, the timer on the quiz keeps going and the quiz doesn't auto-submit even when the max time of the quiz is reached. It only auto-submits when the student re-accesses the quiz. The often confuses and concerns to our faculty because it looks like the student is getting more time on the quiz and/or that the student can look at the quiz questions and then come back to the quiz.
I think it is import that students can get back into a quiz if something interrupts them. I would like see Canvas record the accurate time the students is actually spending in the quiz.
