[New Quizzes] Automatically hide student grade in new quizzes until the instructor grades all pending questions

Problem statement:

When a student submits a “new” quiz any essay type question is counted as a zero until the professor grades it. This means that the moment a student submits a quiz they see a potentially misleading score that is possibly lower than it should be. The current remedy for this is clunky in my opinion. We have to filter student results in the quiz settings AND we need to set each quiz to post scores “manually”. Then after grading all pending questions we need to remember to go back to the grade book and post the scores.

Proposed solution:

In the quiz settings page allow us to select an option that hides the score and then automatically posts the score when all pending questions are graded.

The good news is that we've already added functionality so that students will not see a score until all questions are graded. In the End of Quarter Update for Q2 2022, we announced the improved grading experience where New Quizzes that require manual grading appear in an instructor’s To Do List. In the Gradebook, instead of a partial grade, a New Quizzes icon is displayed that shows the quiz is pending completion of grading.

When students complete a quiz that requires manual grading, they will not receive notification of a graded exam until grading has been completed. Partial grades will not show up in their Gradebook, to avoid the early notification or visibility of incomplete grades.  New Quizzes will not appear in the student’s recent feedback list until after the teacher completes the manual grading.  

As soon as a teacher clicks to “Updates Scores” in Speedgrader, then Canvas will see the quiz as completely graded and remove it from the teacher’s To do list and will be displayed in the student’s recent feedback.
