I am exploring ways to better organize Item Banks in New Quizzes and was wondering if there is a built-in method to categorize banks based on similar tags or group them under a broader category. After communicating with support back and forth, there aren't such feature implemented yet in Canvas LMS. For example, if I have a Math-related Item Bank, I might use tags such as Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. Ideally, I would like to be able to search for “Math” and see a list of all related tags and see the related banks under this category.
Currently, it seems that tags in New Quizzes function independently, without any hierarchical structure or grouping. Here are my suggestions for improving the tags feature. 1. Group tags under a common category (e.g., Math → Algebra, Geometry, etc.). 2. Search for a broader term (e.g., “Math”) and retrieve all related tags. 3. Filter Item Banks by tag groups, rather than just individual tags.
