In Classic Quizzes, you used to be able to choose whether a quiz belonged to an assignment group, and therefore appeared on the Assignments page. If you did not assign it to a group, it did not appear on the Assignments page. This was helpful where you had a lot of quizzes within your learning materials, but didn't want to clutter up the Assignments page. With New Quizzes you are required to choose an Assignment Group for your quizzes, so they must appear on the Assignments page.
Allow creation of New Quizzes which do not belong to an Assignment Group (or which belong to a group which can be hidden from the Assignments page). This will improve the student experience in line with the way Classic Quizzes worked, allowing instructors to present Quizzes using the Quizzes page or the Assignments page as desired, and focus the Assignments page on significant graded assignments where appropriate.
