The Instructure Product Team is working on implementing a better solution to collect your feedback. Read Shiren's blog for more information.
In New Quizzes, there is no ability to schedule the release of instructor comments/feedback for student quiz responses. Instructors often want to provide written feedback but delay its visibility until after the due date or after all students have completed the quiz, to prevent answer sharing or unfair advantage. Use Case Example: A professor adds detailed explanations and comments on each question to help students learn after the quiz period ends. However, since New Quizzes does not allow scheduled release of comments, the instructor must either: (1) Hide feedback completely, or (2) Manually return to the quiz later and reveal comments at the correct time — which is error-prone and time-consuming.
Add a setting in New Quizzes that allows instructors to set a date/time when instructor feedback/comments become visible to students — similar to how Classic Quizzes allows scheduling the release of correct answers. Why this solution is needed: Ensures fairness during active quiz periods (prevents leakage of hints/answers) Reduces manual work and risk of forgetting to reveal feedback Preserves a common workflow that existed in Classic Quizzes, which many institutions still depend on Aligns with pedagogical practices where delayed feedback is intentional and instructional
