Currently, admins can allow users to edit their name in Canvas. Unfortunately, this option allows for Full Name, Display Name, and Sortable Name to be changed. There is no option to allow users to edit only one or two of these fields. This becomes a problem when teachers need the students' Full Name to be unchanged for grading purposes, but they would still like to give students the ability to modify the way that their name is displayed in discussions.
Give administrators the ability to choose which of the name fields that users will be able to edit. This will allow for greater flexibility with the way that names are displayed in the system.
