I saw a similar idea proposed but it's been marked as delivered and it's not exactly what I am asking for. When I create a rubric I have it set so the rubric is used for assignment grading (which is great). But if I'm in the middle of grading a submission and need to come back it, the only option I have to save my comments and points is to hit submit. When I do that, the submission is marked as graded even though I haven't finished grading it. This can get confusing if I do not make a note for myself or go to the submission to see the incomplete rubric. Also, sometimes I just want to save my progress in case I accidentally navigate away from the page.
I would like a save button added to the rubric, so my progress is saved without submitting the grade. And then after I'm finished, I can hit submit.
