[Student Grades] Parent Observers with multiple children Need to See Grades for 1 student at a time

Problem statement:

Parents that have more than one child are seeing their students grades mixed with each other. When each student has 8-12 courses per term, parents do not have a quick and easy view or access to see a single child's academic progress. Parents are seeing all of their children's grades for the 10-12 courses per term mixed in together which does not allow them to easily distingush their child's academic progress or identify problem areas. Currently, Canas does not allow access for a parent to view all of one child's grades at once. In other words, our parent observers that have more than 2 children in the school can only see a hodgepodge of all grades of all their children.

Proposed solution:

Allow the parent observer access to view only one student's grades at a time. (A screenshot of the parent observers' view of their children's grades would easily illustrate the issue. We are happy to provide an image if it will be helpful.).

With 4 kids who all use Canvas, I share in this frustration.  It is especially frustrating for those of us whose kids have Executive Function issues and are more prone to have missing or late assignments.

Kathleen,

Thank you for sharing your frustration!  It shouldn't be this difficult or challenging to ascertain a single child's academic progress.

At minimal, if all student grades need to show in one view, then they need to display ORDER by child so that all one child's grades display first, then the next, etc.

Have a great week.

I share your frustration with this as well.  We have teacher with an observer ole so they can monitor multiple students.  When they go to "View Grades" for a specific student, it shows the grades for ALL the students they are observing, AND the list is not sorted, making their task much more difficult.  I would like to see at a minimum this list be sorted, and best case, for the list to be sorted, and have the ability to filter for a single student.
