Currently, when recording a video utilizing a webcam in Screencast-o-Matic (Screen Recorder Launcher) or Studio Capture, users must find a suitable backdrop in their physical space in order to create a video that's presentable and professional, which is not always an option for users. Instructors at my institution want students to have a simple and easy built-in option to do this without resorting to third-party applications, like Zoom's Recording feature or Padlet.
The Studio Capture application could be modified to include a feature that allows the user to blur their background, or change their background to a specific color or image. This could be implemented by adding a button at the bottom of the application user interface. The Screencast-o-Matic (Screen Recorder Launcher) application could be modified to include a feature that allows the user to blur their background, or change their background to a specific color or image. This could be implemented by adding a new configuration option under the Preferences menu.
