Our main language is German, but many students and staff only speak English. As the majority of users are native German speakers, the system default is also German. Non-German speakers will find it difficult to find the way via Account, Settings, Edit settings in German to change the default language settings once.
Enable a language switch to English (US) right after the first entry into Canvas, e.g. on the home page, or give teachers the option to switch between different languages at this point (e.g. switch between German and English UK or US).
